Library Services and Resources during COVID-19

This guide will provide library information specific to library resources and services available during the COVID-19 Pandemic

General Information

While the physical space of the library will be closed throughout the spring semester, we look forward to helping connect you with the services and resources you are looking for. Brief information on our services and collections is listed below, and more information can be found by exploring the additional pages of this guide.

Research Assistance and General Information

BSU librarians will provide reference services through email, text, chat, and one-on-one consultations by appointment on Zoom.

Checking Out & Returning BSU Library Physical Books

Recognizing the needs of students finishing out the semester online and also to support faculty research, the library will provide access to physical materials through campus delivery/mail.  We are working on a plan for the eventual return of library material.

Interlibrary Loan

Students, faculty, and staff can continue using interlibrary loan (ILL) services. Please note that physical items requested through ILL may not be available and wait times for requested materials may be longer than usual. See the Interlibrary Loan Services page of this guide for more details.

Online Resources

Our collection of online resources continues to be accessible through our Online Resources page. Additionally, many vendors and publishers have provided free access to additional content as a way to support students and faculty at this time. This includes expanded access to many journals, eBooks, and textbooks.                                                                  

Computers & Printing

Computer access and printing for students is available in Decker Hall 108, from 8 am to 11 pm every day (access using your BSU student ID card).  For the most up to date information, see the BSU ITS web site.  If you know of a student who will not have adequate computer access, please have them take the Student Technology Survey on BSU’s coronavirus website or contact the IT Helpdesk (helpdesk@bemidjistate.edu, 218-755-3777).
